Survey Finds Most Vapers are Health-Conscious and Drink Little Alcohol
Even though the NHS recognises e-cigarettes as a valuable tool for quitting traditional smoking, vaping has often been met with scepticism and controversy over the years, along with the notion that vape users are careless about their health.
However, a recent survey conducted by Vape Superstore has shed light on the wellness habits of e-cigarette users, challenging common stereotypes and revealing a surprising focus on health and well-being.
Contrary to popular belief, e-cigarette users are not a group of reckless individuals disregarding their health.
The survey data indicates that a significant portion of vapers prioritise wellness in various aspects of their lives.
2,660 vape users in total were asked about their approach to wellness in relation to alcohol, fitness, supplements, and sleep. Here’s a break down of the key findings:
Alcohol Consumption:
·Moderation is Key: A substantial 21% of vapers identify as sober, while another 22% consume alcohol less than once a month.
·Non-Alcoholic Alternatives: Mocktails and non-alcoholic beer are the preferred choices for those who do consume alcohol, suggesting a preference for mindful drinking.
Fitness and Exercise:
·Active Lifestyles: While not all vapers have a strict daily exercise routine, many (44%) incorporate physical activity into their lives at least once a week.
·Dog Walking as a Popular Choice: A surprising 40% of vapers prioritise dog walking as their primary form of exercise, combining physical activity with mental well-being.
Dietary Supplements:
·Selective Supplementation: A majority of vapers (74%) choose not to take dietary supplements.
·Focus on Essential Nutrients: For those who do supplement, vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, and iron are the most popular choices, indicating a desire to maintain optimal health.
Sleep and Focus:
·Sleep Patterns: While many vapers (37%) sleep 6-7 hours per night, which is below the NHS recommended 7-9 hours, it’s important to note that individual sleep needs can vary.
·High Levels of Focus: A significant portion of vapers (39%) report high levels of focus compared to 7% who struggle with focusing.
·Balanced Energy Levels: The majority of vapers (50%) perceive their energy levels as normal compared to 11% who say they lack energy constantly.
Commenting on the findings from the survey, David Phillips from Vape Superstore said:
“There are many misconceptions of e-cigarette users, either being deemed unhealthy or careless, this survey proves that is not quite the case as it shows indications of their health consciousness; most notably, that 21% of e-cigarette users are sober.
“This seemingly positive relationship vapers have with their health further highlights that e-cigarettes are a tool to help quit smoking, as advised by the NHS.”

As the vaping industry continues to evolve, it’s crucial to rely on evidence-based research and accurate information.
The Vape Superstore survey offers valuable insights into the wellness habits of e-cigarette users, highlighting their commitment to a healthier future.
It’s time to move beyond stereotypes and recognise the potential benefits of e-cigarettes as a harm reduction tool.
