Smok goes compact with the Smok Mag 40W Pod System Kit!
The Mag range is notoriously known for its compact shape, the latest SMOK Mag 40W Pod System Kit is no different - with its robust design, easy to grip trigger handle, and the fact that it’s able to accommodate both MTL and DTL vaping is no wonder why its a firm favourite within the vaping community. SMOK is here once again to prove why their latest pocket friendly entry in their Mag Series comes up top trumps against the competitors.
What’s so special about this new SMOK device? Is this a good device for Sub-Ohm vaping, like the rest of the SMOK Mag series?These are all questions we are going to answer in this blog review, along with all the different aspects of this device!
First off, who is SMOK? By now you should've heard of SMOK as it is a world leading vaping manufacturer, that provides the vaping community with class leading products. The range has seen a huge selection to choose from the original Mag Kit, the Mag Grip Kit and then the last but not least, Mag P3 Kit.
Today we decided to have a look at the latest release in the series the SMOK RPM 40W Pod System Kit.
Features
We will start by looking at the battery, which has a 1300 mAh capacity, and is located inside the device itself. It is rechargeable via the features Micro USB port, and it recharges the battery at a current of 0.95A.
The device also features a 1.3 inch thin-film-transistor display. TFT technology features a liquid-crystal display that uses thin-film-transistor technology, in order to improve image qualities such as addressability and contrast. This way vaping settings and information cannot come clearer in the Mag 40W vape kit.
Like the Smok RPM 2, Smok RPM 80 and Smok Scar P3 pod mod kits, the Mag 40W vape system features variable wattage, which provides freedom to the user, and allows for several different power levels all the way from 1 to 40 W.
A feature that has not been seen before with the Mag series and has only been implemented by the most recent pod mods by SMOK, is the Dual MTL & DTL feature. Since SMOK Mag 40W Pod System Kit is compatible with all the RPM coil range, from the RPM Mesh 0.4 Ohm to the RPM MTL DC 0.8 Ohm coils.
This is great news, because no longer a Mag Kit user is restricted to Sub-Ohm vaping, but now also Mouth to Lung vaping is on the table!
Design
The Mag series is very well known for their unique gun-styled shape in all models, mostly featuring a trigger style grip, with some models in the past featuring also a removable battery compartment made imitating a magazine shape and features.
Therefore for SMOK it made sense that the new Mag kit should have at least retained some of those classic features and shape, and in fact the final product does that, by including all the other features seen in the latest pod mods released by SMOK.
You can see the way that the series has been shaped around by looking at the device itself, with the fire button again located in the grip section, and the trigger operates as the fire key.
The pod is refillable from the top, therefore there is no need to remove it every time you need a quick refill. Refilling is taken care of via a top filling port, allowing for easy refill and lower leaking occurrences, similar to the concept of the Trinity Alpha Mesh Pod Kit. The top cap features a childproof push cap that improves leakproof features, and enhances flavour production due the dual airflow installed in the pod.

We can definitely admit that SMOK has done a superb job with the Mag 40W Pod Kit, and the fans of the Mag Series are definitely going to get this one. The colour option is superb, and the gun-styled shape improves on handles alike comfort, proving another time that SMOK knows what is doing with their devices.
We are very sure that SMOK will come up with something else in the near future, but are excited for the latest and most improved pod mod device available today.
