Review: Xros Pro – Vaporesso

The Xros pod family is expanding with the arrival of the Pro model. This new model is aptly named. It is more comprehensive, even more stylish and has numerous settings, making it the most advanced pod in the series.

An advanced pod

With its 3 ml capacity, the Xros Pro’s capacity is increased by 1 ml. It has a bright screen skilfully integrated into the body of the pod. The device offers excellent accuracy in its settings and a top-quality finish. It’s an ideal pod to get into vaping or as a secondary setup.

Great options

The Xros Pro has a particularly well-integrated fire button in its top part. Only a ring stands slightly proud of the surface. If you run your finger over it, you can immediately feel it, so there’s no need to look for it. This button is not lighted but when pressed, the screen lights up to display the pod’s key information and access the settings. The levels of finish and assembly are impeccable.

On the side of the Xros Pro, a small sliding button is used to lock the pod, ideal to avoid any unintended firing during transport. The Xros Pro can also be switched off by pressing the fire button five times in a row.

Airflow adjustment is available on the back of the device. It slides to allow the air in to cool the coil in the cartridge. You can switch from a tight draw to a much more dynamic vape, enabling energetic mouth-to-lung inhalation right through to restricted DL. This slide does not move on its own when the Xros Pro is in a pocket or bag.

On the underside of the pod is a USB-C port for fast-charging the 1200 mAh battery. The battery is not the largest on the market, but is consistent with the coils in the cartridges. The pod charges very quickly and it can be used while it’s charging. The screen displays the time remaining before the end of charging and the battery percentage. Even though the Xros has a fire button, vapour can be produced by simply inhaling.

The pod automatically adjusts the ideal power needed for each cartridge inserted. Despite this, you can manually adjust this setting to suit your personal preferences. An eco mode is also available but we prefer the “normal” mode, which is more adapted to the vaping experience.

The 3 ml cartridge is fitted on the top of the Xros Pro. It is firmly held in place by a magnet. If it falls heavily, the cartridge may come off the device, but in normal use, no lateral play was noticed between the tank and the battery body.

Two cartridges are supplied in the box. The sealed coil in each cartridge is 0.4 ohm. We didn’t notice any leaks or seepage, ideal for a straightforward introduction to vaping. The device is filled via a port covered with a silicone membrane with a slit into which to insert the tip of the e-liquid bottle.

The Xros Pro is compatible with all the Xros 2 and 3 ml cartridges with values varying from 0.6 to 1.2 ohm. That should satisfy a good number of vapers. The flavours are excellent, and the pod is remarkably easy to use whilst still including numerous options which take it to another level.
