Review: Trine Q – Innokin

The Trine Q is a cylindrical-shaped pod with a removable battery. Its specificity lies in its interchangeable battery, which is becoming more common in Innokin products. The flavors are excellent, but there's room for improvement.

The Trine Q follows in the footsteps of the Trine with its removable battery. The pod has a tubular shape and offers two cartridges for two styles of vaping. Reliable, the pod delivers very good flavors.

A Perfectible Pod

The upper part of the Trine Q features a small circular button that, when pressed, produces vapor. It is surrounded by an LED that indicates the device’s proper functioning as well as the battery level via a color code. The cartridge fits at the top of the battery body. In the photo, you can see the soft silicone cap that needs to be lifted to fill the tank.

On the opposite side of the firing button, a USB-C connector allows for recharging the removable battery. A slot just above allows air to pass through to cool the cartridge’s coil. We will return to this later.

The Trine Q features its removable battery, a system already seen on the Trine.

The concept of an interchangeable battery is relevant both for its simplicity of replacement and its overall ecological impact. Innokin has been committed to environmental issues for several years with its recycled cardboard and paper packaging. However, we are somewhat left wanting with this 1050 mAh battery and a 0.6-ohm cartridge at a power of 17 to 20 W. We would have liked much more autonomy for a 20 mm diameter pod.

There’s no doubt that the manufacturer will improve this removable device to gain autonomy, and we encourage the eco-responsible approach.

Of course, with the principle of a removable battery, it is always possible to buy a second battery to have longer autonomy without worrying about the charging phase. Very convenient in situations where charging is impossible.

Under the cartridge, an arc-shaped slider allows you to open or close three windows that modulate the airflow. It is a bit unusual to find this adjustment under the cartridge, but once set, it is not necessary to intervene again. The adjustment range is significant for a pod and allows for a tight to much more open and dynamic draw.

Two cartridges (Qcap) are provided with the Trine Q. One with a resistance value of 0.6 ohm for use between 17 to 20 W and a second of 0.8 ohm for vaping at 13 to 15 W. The capacity is 3 ml, in line with pods of this format.

The coil is sealed in the cartridge. The entire cartridge needs to be replaced once the flavor delivery is less effective.

The Trine Q also comes with 5 filters that can be installed in place of the mouthpiece. This is ideal for all users who want to get a sensation close to that of a tobacco cigarette in contact with their lips. A small feature, these filters come with a plastic guide that helps maintain their shape and rigidity.

In terms of vaping, the Trine Q is very effective. The flavors are excellent, and the airflow is perfectly controlled. Vaping is enjoyable, especially with fruity flavors. It is easy to use.

REVIEW OVERVIEW

SUMMARY
The Trine Q is a good pod. The flavors are excellent, and the ease of use is evident. It comes with disposable filters to extend the vaping experience. However, its 1050 mAh battery is, in our opinion, insufficient for prolonged use. The disposable cartridges are a drawback.
