HOW TO USE A BOX MOD

WHAT IS A BOX MOD VAPE?
A box mod is one of the most powerful types of vaporizers. Box mods differ from other vaporizers in many different ways including size, shape, and function, as the larger box shape allows for much larger and stronger batteries and coils. They first became popular with the advent of electronic cigarettes as an alternative to smoking, and the technology quickly took off from there.
Now, users can enjoy various flavors of e juice and wax concentrates that are powered by box mods capable of creating huge clouds and extremely potent hits. As mentioned, box mods typically come with a larger battery that lasts longer than smaller vape pens and are also able to produce much thicker clouds of vapor. Box mod vapes are typically bigger than other vaporizers, due to their bulkier, box-like shape. They allow users to interchange different types of batteries, atomizers, and tanks for more customization potential than other types of vaporizers as well, which is one of the main reasons they have soared in popularity.

WHY BUY A BOX MOD VAPE?
Box mods are the ultimate vaporizer for those seeking customizability and the ideal piece for their preferences. Whether alternating between the level of intensity of a throat hit or just having an extensive collection of atomizers for different occasions and types of concentrates, the box mod offers users the most customization potential of any category of a vaporizer. The box mod works in a similar fashion to other vaporizers by using a battery. It has a battery inside of it that heats up a coil. The coil is located inside of a separate atomizer that is attached to the box mod. When this coil is heated, vapor is created that the user then inhales. This process can differ depending on what type of atomizer is attached to the box mod. There are a huge amount of different accessories for box mods, and whichever type you choose depends on your preferences.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO USING A BOX MOD
Using a box mod is a pretty straightforward process, and simply requires inserting your e juice or concentrate pod into the vaporizer and then igniting the atomizer, usually by pressing a button. Make sure that your atomizer and wax/oil are compatible and that you are heating at a good temperature that will not burn the hit.

TIPS FOR USING A BOX MOD
1.Start at lowest wattage and work your way up – herb coils take less temperature than wax or oil to burn the THC and other key high-inducing chemicals. Burning the concentrate too much or too hot will burn it out and potentially damage the piece as well.
2.They can be used with the now very popular, pre-filled, skinny 510 oil cartridges.
3.Great for wax since the average wax pen doesn’t have much control, with this you can control exactly how hot you want the coil to burn and how strong of a hit you take.
4.They often have high battery capacity, making them great for long trips and outdoor adventures.
5.Disassembling the device and powering it down at night can increase longevity and the new look and feel of your piece.
6.If you want to be able to have access to the full array of juices available to you, I would recommend updating to a glass tank as soon as you can.

USING 510 ATOMIZERS WITH YOUR BOX MOD
Box mods can work with oil, wax, and herb via different atomizer attachments that provide the perfect vaping environment for that particular substance. The different types of atomizer attachments include:

HERB ATOMIZER

Dry herb tanks are designed specifically for vaping dry herbs. The most standard tanks for dry herbs consist of a 510-connector, a heating element inside of the chamber, and the mouthpiece. Dry herbs take significantly more heat to vaporize than e-liquids, and it is important to ensure the dry herb is being heated just under the threshold of combustion. this is important because it ensures that you avoid inhaling a long list of harmful chemicals that result from combustion. Typically, dry herbs will start to combust at around 400 Fahrenheit, so you can expect dry herb tanks to operate around this threshold. Usually, the manufacturer provides instructions on what Wattage settings you should use with the particular herbal atomizer.
The heating chamber of a dry herb vaporizer will normally be made out of ceramic, and this is proving to be the most efficient and cleanest way of vaping to date. An example of a great dry herb coil product is the Yocan 94F Dry Herb Atomizer. With a large chamber and perfect temperature potential, these coils are great for burning dry herbs.

WAX ATOMIZER

One of the most important aspects of an atomizer is the material used in its construction for the bowl, coils, mouthpiece, etc. Different materials offer various benefits as well as different flavors and experiences when used with different strains of wax and concentrate. Wax vaporizers usually consist of a battery, atomizer, and mouthpiece. This mechanism is adopted throughout the vape pen industry, allowing for a wider compatibility between brands and wax pen models. The atomizer is the element which heats your vaping material for vaporization, and this piece is different in wax atomizers than in their dry herb counterparts. The dry herb atomizers are not as heavy duty, as they do not need to heat to as high of a temperature. Atomizers can be made from a variety of materials and optimized for dry herb, wax, and oil concentrates, even e-juice. These atomizers are wax-temperature optimized and are therefore not recommended for dry herb.

The use of quartz in wax atomizers is a relatively new practice that is growing in popularity. Quartz is a premium material which is featured in high-quality vape pens and wax atomizers; it has a look and feels similar to that of glass. Quartz has the benefit of being much more inert than ceramic. Quartz is the opposite of most of the properties of ceramic with a much less porous surface when it reaches temperature, and it will burn the wax without absorbing. For this reason, quartz rod atomizers are favored by dabbers and those looking for above-average clouds.

While quartz is capable of producing large clouds, this does mean that your concentrate will be vaporized more quickly. The quartz materials facilitate a more complete hit of your waxy oils or concentrate with each hit. For its cloud-producing capabilities, quartz is generally used in dual rod-type wax atomizers. This allows for greater surface area to quickly heat the concentrate material. For the most extreme hits of all, there is an emerging number of wax atomizers which feature a triple rod quartz atomizer. Triple coil quartz rod atomizers are recommended experienced dabbers due to the high output of vapor they provide.

Ceramic has been used in wax atomizers since the introduction of the modern wax atomizer with rods and titanium wire. Ceramic has a more porous surface, which will absorb more concentrate material. This allows for the flavor of your concentrates to more thoroughly permeate the entire surface area of the atomizer for fuller flavor. For this reason, ceramic is generally preferred by low-temp dabbers and wax pen users hoping to get the most out of their favorite flavor oils and concentrates. This quality makes ceramic atomizers a perfect complement to lower-temperature setups such as single coil wax atomizers as well as atomizers with less coils.

510 SKINNY OIL CARTRIDGES

Oil atomizers are refillable tank cartridges for oil concentrates that provide easy on-the-go loading and vaping with your pen. Other e-liquids may also work depending on the thickness of the oil and the coils in your piece. These typically come in glass containers and burn thinner, less viscous clouds than wax does. You can fit your box mod with a permanent glass container that you can manually refill, or you can opt to purchase refillable cartridges of oil that easily screw into any 510 threading attachment. Both options provide great tasting hits, but the pre-filled cartridges do not provide the flavor customization and control that the separate made juices can potentially provide.

Deciding to use a pre-filled cannabis oil vape cartridge takes the guesswork completely out of the equation and makes it easier than ever to plug in and vape. Contrary to other methods of using hash oil such as a dab rig and nail setup, or even manual portable vape pens which require self-loading of juices, pre-filled “carts” require little to no effort whatsoever and can provide great tasting and very potent vaping experiences.

E LIQUID ATOMIZERS

Today dripping juice onto the coils has become rather popular despite the lack of a convenience factor. There are those who are very serious about their flavors and the quality of the e-liquid they use. For these people, dripping is the best way to get the most out of your flavors. Typically, you will also find that those who prefer this method will also mix their own flavors of e-juice and will usually rebuild their atomizers as opposed to purchasing new ones. The market has adapted to this and there are even a few models out there specifically made for dripping.
Atomizers compatible with e-juice are easy to use, and simply require you to drip the juice or combination of juices in the area. The atomizer is filled by dripping e-juice directly onto the coil, called direct dripping. For disposable 510 or 305 atomizers, 3-4 drops will suffice, which is good for up to 10 hits with most models. Other atomizers, especially the customizable models, allow users to drip more juice onto the coil for a stronger taste and thicker clouds. While the number of drags you are able to take with your atomizer is significantly less than what cartomizers and clearomizers provide, direct dripping is preferred by many for its clean and flavorful vape and overall user control of the hit and its flavor potency. However, because of constant dripping, atomizer users will have to carry a bottle of e-juice around with them at all times as well as a charger, mod, coils, and batteries. It will become apparent when it is time to refill an atomizer once the flavor wanes. When you notice your hits becoming less flavorful, drip on it right away. If you continue to dry burn the wick and coil, you will get a burnt taste on your next drag and potentially damage your piece. When a wick has been burnt to the point of being damaged, all it takes is a couple of drops to begin to vape normally again.
Mods are, at their simplest, high-powered versions of e-juice pens. Vape Mods have become very popular among vaporizer enthusiasts due to their customizable nature, and their ability to produce massive clouds. A mod, either mechanical or electronic, is one of the easiest and most flavorful ways to smoke, and has grown in popularity for good reason. The specifications and capabilities of batteries and tanks can vary greatly depending on the type of mod. With so many options and builds to choose from, mods offer a DIY satisfaction to users who want more power and fun than typical vaporizers can provide.
