How To Troubleshoot Your Vape Cartridge

Why is your vape cartridge not working properly?
We understand the frustration of a vape cartridge not working as it should at the worst possible time.
We've prepared a list of quick solutions that might help out. These tips and tricks have been gathered from vapers all over; try these useful fixes before going through the trouble of replacing your vape cartridge.
First identify the reason why your vape cartridge is not functioning correctly. These are the most common problems vapers face when they have a troubleshooting issue with their vape cartridge.

Most common problems with vape cartridges

1. The battery is not adequately connected to the cartridge
This problem tends to occur when the contact to the battery is lost because the battery itself is pushed too far up into the base of the cartridge. Sometimes, you can screw the cartridge to the battery too tight, which can sometimes lead to a loss in the link because the heating element getting pushed in too deep.
In this situation, screw the battery and the cartridge just until all threads meet.
When this happens, make sure that everything is taken out and then properly connected, and test it by using a charged battery to see if it “pulls.” You will know this is your problem if you notice the heating element is more rooted in the cartridge than it’s supposed to be.
You can take a small knife or a clip (make sure you’re very careful with sharp objects because there is a risk of cutting yourself) and try to pull the element up. Once you succeed, test it out as we described above.

2. The weather outside is affecting your vape cartridge
One of the most common mistakes vapers make is when they leave their vape cartridge and battery exposed to high temperatures on hot, sunny days. If you're not mindful with your cartridge, especially in warm weather, you can expect issues with the proper functioning of the device.
Picture it this way — would you leave your phone, tablet or laptop in the car on a hot summer day? Of course not, because it can fry the internal infrastructure of the phone. It’s the same with the vape cartridge.
The same tips for appropriate care for your cartridge apply when the weather is cold, and the temperatures are low.
The oil in the cartridge thickens when it is left on low temperatures for too long, and this will affect the “pulling”. When this happens, you can try to warm up the oil inside by putting the cartridge in a plastic bag and leaving it in a warm cup of water for a few minutes. Be careful not to let the water touch the device.

3. When the cartridge is not “pulling”

Another issue with the vape cartridge not working properly is when it’s not “pulling.” In that case, the first thing to check is the charge of the battery. A low battery level will affect the pull. Also, if using an adjustable battery, make sure that it’s set on the lowest watts/volts available. The wrong voltage can create connection problems.

If none of these tips helped you solve your vape cartridge problem, you could find different batteries, cartridges or vape supplies in the vap store.

How to fix a vape pen cartridge?
Vape pens are becoming a huge trend because they are affordable, convenient and versatile. As the technology behind them improves, they become a more alluring option than other traditional smoking choices. Once you purchase your vape pen, it’s important to know how to take care of it and how to deal with the most common issues.
In this segment, we are going to explain how to fix a vape pen cartridge by cleaning the wires, because sometimes they can create connectivity issues.
You need to unscrew the heating chamber, so the wires are exposed. After you access it, use a little brush for cleaning. If there is more residue on the wires, you can use one of the following methods:

·Dab isopropyl alcohol - to remove excess of oil, dust, wax, etc.
·Use a Magnet - if there are remaining metal wire fragments
·A note of importance — you should always check what kind of vape pen you are using and ensure it is compatible with water or alcohol. For example, you can’t use water or rubbing alcohol on an oil vape pen, but you can use them on a concentrate vape pen. If it’s a case of a bad coil, then you should replace it with a new one.

What can you do when the oil cartridge is not hitting?
If the oil cartridge is not hitting, you might have a problem with air bubbles that form around the wick at the base of the cartridge. When this happens, the air bubbles are preventing the absorption of the oil, thus making it difficult or almost impossible to drag.
You can try heating up the oil very slowly to make it move by itself and clear out the bubbles. Or, if that doesn’t work, you can try to remove the mouthpiece of the cartridge, and beneath it, you will see a small rubber. You can try removing this once or twice, which will cause the air bubbles to shift by putting pressure on them

Should you replace your vape pen when it is not working?
If you can’t identify the problem with your vape pen or you tried some/all of the methods described above, and you still have issues “pulling,” then you should consider replacing it. Sometimes when a vape pen is not working, common fixes aren’t applicable, and buying a new one of higher quality will save you a headache in the future.

What to do when the vape cartridge is clogged?
If you are experiencing issues with a clogged vape cartridge, then you need to clean it. The easiest way to do this is to remove the oil chamber and use dry cotton to clean out the residue. You can continue cleaning the other small pieces of the device (mouthpiece, cartridge, etc.). A clogged cartridge is one of the most common reasons for your vape cartridge not working.
