Eight Reasons Why You Should Always Have Replacement Pods Ready to Go
When it comes to vaping with a pod system, we get to enjoy all kinds of perks, like a more convenient, low-maintenance approach to vaping (in most cases, depending on the pod system). But, at the same time, that doesn’t mean that you don’t need to stay on top of taking care of your setup just because it’s a simpler type of system. At the very least, aside from keeping your battery charged, your pods need to be replaced on a somewhat regular basis.
What is a Replacement Pod?
Whenever you buy a pod system, there are two components that come with it: the pod mod (the device), and the pod cartridge that contains the e-liquid. Sometimes the coil is built into the pod, and sometimes the coil is separate, due to the coils being replaced inside of the pod.
Now, no pod that comes with a pod system is meant to last forever. They get dirty after a while due to the residue of juice buildup, and if they contain a coil, that coil will eventually burn out, as they all do. So, that’s where replacement pods come in. Any company that makes a pod system sells replacement pods so that you don’t need to buy an entirely new vaping setup.
Replacement pods come in different quantities – 1-packs, 2-packs, 3-packs, etc., at the discretion of the manufacturer. And, with very few exceptions, you must use the pod cartridge that was designed for your pod mod – the same goes for coils. See, unlike box mod systems, which use a universal 510-threaded connection, pod systems and pods come in all kinds of shapes and sizes that aren’t typically compatible with one another from one product line to the next.
8 Reasons Why You Should Always Have Replacement Pods Ready to Go in Your Pod System
Replacement pods are a fundamental aspect of vaping that enhances the experience by ensuring the pod system works efficiently. But not only that, as there are other key reasons why you should always have a fresh pack of replacement pods before you run out of the current ones you’re using.
Reason #1: You Never Know When Your Coil is Going to Conk Out
First off, if you’re using pods that contain integrated coils (coils built into the pod), you can’t always know when that coil is going to conk out. Even the highest-quality mesh coil will run out of steam sooner or later, and you can’t always tell that a replacement is in order until it’s too late. Besides that, the fact of the matter is, even the most reputable hardware companies can produce duds from time to time.
If you don’t have replacement coils ready to go, then you may very well be unable to vape, should this happen, until you can get new replacement coils sent to your home. Having backups means you will never have to go a long time without vaping.
Reason #2: You Might Need a Flavor Refresher
Sometimes, residue from the last e-juice remains in your current pod, when you’re ready to switch to a new flavor. This can negatively impact the new flavor you were looking forward to vaping. Not to mention, this can be an issue even if you’re going with the same flavor, actually. You see, all that residue from each vaping session can accumulate until it’s ‘gunking’ up the walls of your pod and the coil, at which point it becomes a sticky, sugary residue that starts to burn when it gets heated by the coil. This can make any flavor taste off, at which point a new pod is in order.
Reason #3: You Might Want to Switch Out E-Liquids
You might like having different pods for different flavors, so that you can enjoy something of a flavor rotation throughout the day. In that case, typically, you’d want to have a surplus of pods on hand so you can feel less restricted with how many flavors you can work into your rotation at any given time.
Reason #4: Yes, Pods Can Get Damaged
Pod cartridges are usually made of PCTG – a heavy-duty, durable plastic that’s shatterproof, and can withstand the heat of the vape without leeching chemicals into the vapor. And, while the durability is strong with this material, it’s not completely resistant to damage. For instance, it can get crushed, in which case you’d be out of a vape. Of course, having backup pods means that in the event of the worst-case scenario, you’d still be able to get back to vaping in no time.
Reason #5: Sometimes, Leaks Happen
Of course, once in a while, a leak can occur – especially if you’re using a cheaper pod system. While some pods on the market do promise to be 100% leakproof, the reality is that certain models don’t carry that promise. Hence, a leaky pod cartridge sometimes requires a replacement, as some leaks are caused by structural issues that can’t be repaired.
Reason #6: Hygiene and Health
Regularly replacing pods can also be a hygienic practice. Over time, pods can become a breeding ground for bacteria, especially if they are not cleaned properly. Using a fresh pod reduces the risk of exposure to harmful bacteria.
Reason #7: You May Need to Lend One Out
You never know when your vaping buddy is rocking the same pod system, and could use a replacement, at which point you can save the day – that is, if you’re feeling generous.
Reason #8: Emergency Situations
In situations where you may not have immediate access to a vape shop or online store, having replacement pods stocked up ensures you won't run out of vaping supplies when you need them the most.
Replacement Pods are an Essential Part of Your Vaping Setup!
It’s hard to go wrong by having a pack or two of replacement pods at all times. You never know when something might happen, and you could regret not having a fresh pod in your arsenal so that you can get back to your vaping hobby. Basically, having replacement pods ready to go for your pod system is crucial for ensuring a smooth and satisfying vaping experience, minus the downtime.
