Difference Between Mouth to Lung and Direct Lung Vaping

If you're one of the millions of smokers striving to stop, you've already seen vaping as a suitable alternative. Vaping, on the other hand, can seem frightening and complicated. Before jumping in as a novice, it's important to learn the fundamentals.

It's easy to see what's available in the marketplace. Learning "how do I vape?" is just as critical as learning "which system would fit better for me?" when it comes to vaping. To put it another way, you should be aware of the two basic vaping types before making your first purchase.

Today, we'll go over the two most common types of vaping: direct-to-lung (DTL) and mouth-to-lung (MTL) (MTL). Both of these types of inhalation have their own collection of benefits, but they perform well with identical vape juice and supplies.

It's likely that the device you end up buying would not be a deliberate decision. Many vapers have a preference for one method or the other. However, whether you want to broaden your horizons or don't feel like you're getting the most out of your practice, switching types might be the answer.

Let's look at the two different vape styles and see which one will work best for you.

What is Mouth-to-Lung inhale?
Inhaling from the mouth to the lungs is referred to as mouth-to-lung inhaling. You draw the vapour into your mouth as you MTL inhale. After that, you keep it in your mouth and inhale it into your lungs.

The MTL feeling is much closer to that of a cigarette due to its tighter, more limited draw.

Furthermore, the combination of less air pulled over the coil, higher PG ratios, and inhaling technique results in a stronger throat strike.

What is Direct-Lung inhale?
When you inhale the vapour straight into your lungs without first keeping it in your mouth, you're doing a direct-lung inhale. It's almost as if you're taking a deep breath while pursing your lips.

To cool down the vape, direct-lung vaping necessitates more airflow. As a result, DL systems are designed to pull more air into the coil. Straight-to-Lung inhale is another name for Direct-Lung inhale.

A mixture of both?
While most websites use the words Mouth-to-Lung and Direct-Lung interchangeably, the two terms may be confusing. When you vape, though, the vapour must pass through your mouth before reaching your lungs.
Nonetheless, the words are often used, and it's worthwhile to understand what they mean before deciding on the best device for you.

What is restricted Direct-Lung vaping?
Restricted Direct-Lung (abbreviated as RDL).

This refers to a vape that is always airy, but not as airy as a full-on DL inhale, and recognizes the blur between MTL and DL.

You inhale the same way with limited Direct-Lung vaping, but you don't need too much airflow over the coil. The flavor experience is similar to that of DL, but the throat hit is more akin to that of MTL.

Which is right for you?

·For new vapers
When it comes to smoking, most people prefer mouth-to-lung inhaling. This is best for vape products that have a closer pull, a higher nicotine content, and a smoother throat hit.

Such people even say it reminds them of how they used to drink. Direct-Lung may be very potent, and new vapers can experience coughing as a result.

·For flavor
New vapers aren't the only ones who prefer mouth to lung vaping. Some vapers assume that using a Mouth-to-Lung vaping technique gives them more flavor from their vape.

There are several possible reasons for this.

·If you MTL vape, you draw less air to your vape.
·Flavors don't blend as well with VG as they do with PG.
·MTL vaping allows the vapor to spend more time in your mouth, where there are more taste buds.

However, with DL, you inhale more vapour, which ensures the flavor is more concentrated.

Furthermore, e-liquid mixologists are well aware that high VG e-liquids have a distinct flavor profile. They may have used the same recipe for both VG:PG ratios in the early days of vaping. Recipes are now more suited to fit with higher VG ratios.

·For clouds/intense vape experience
Direct-Lung inhaling is best for those who enjoy blowing large clouds of vapour and having a more powerful vaping experience.
