10 Benefits of Vaping – Why it’s Time to Make the Switch!

10 Benefits of Vaping
Considering purchasing an e-cig? Then you’ll no doubt be interested in the 10 benefits of vaping which should illustrate exactly why vapes are now such a popular alternative to smoking.

Let’s face it, vape devices are everywhere these days. Walk down your local high street and it’s pretty much guaranteed you’ll come across either a vape store or spot someone puffing on an e-cigarette – or perhaps even both!

With over 3 million people in the UK now vaping, e-cigs are now by far the most popular stop-smoking aid. But why have so many people traded in their conventional cigarettes for an electronic alternative?  To find out, let’s take a look at 10 benefits of vaping!

Health Benefits
Without a doubt, the thing that encourages the vast majority of people to ditch combustible cigarettes in favour of a vape device is the health benefits on offer. Despite early attempts by the media and tobacco industry to portray e-cigs as just as harmful as tobacco products, a large-scale study a few years back provided some much-needed data.

Commissioned by Public Health England (PHE), the UK’s leading public health body, the huge study established that vapes are at least 95% safer than cigarettes, silencing the doubters and proving once and for all that vaping is a significantly less damaging habit than smoking.

No Second-Hand Smoke
If you’re worried about your second-hand smoke affecting those around you – you should be as passive smoking is a proven killer – then you’ll be glad to know vaping doesn’t pose the same risks.

Cigarette smoke contains over 7,000 chemicals, around 70 of which are known carcinogens. The inhalation of these chemicals can result in severe health complications not just for those lighting up but also for those around them. In children, this can raise the risk of respiratory illnesses such as asthma, bronchitis and pneumonia.

Thankfully, second-hand vapour hasn’t been shown to pose the same risks. In fact, research has shown that the effects of passive vaping are negligible, so if you’re keen to avoid affecting those around you then vaping is by far the better choice of the two.

Money Saved
With inflation through the roof and a possible recession on the way things are tight, so for many of us cutting back and making savings wherever possible is more important than ever.

That’s what makes vaping such an attractive option if you’re tightening the purse strings, as the average smoker can save around £3,200 a year by switching to a vape.

If you’re a heavy smoker then there are even bigger savings to be made, so if you’re looking for a way to save some precious pounds in these difficult times then bag yourself a vape kit!

Effective Way to Quit Smoking
No other stop-smoking aid on the market is as effective as a vape device. Period.

Take a look on the supermarket shelves and you’ll see a variety of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) products all claiming to make quitting smoking easier, but the cold, hard truth is none of them come close to e-cigarettes.

Still not convinced? Then take a look at this study which found that vaping is about twice as effective as other nicotine replacement therapy products (NRTs). If you’re serious about quitting and struggling with other stop-smoking aids, a vape could be that extra push you need.

Taste/Smell Returns
Sick of being unable to taste or smell property? Years of inhaling cigarette smoke can wreak havoc on your senses, so if you’re a smoker you’ll know all too well the damage this habit can do to your sense of taste and smell.

There are a number of reasons smoking has such an adverse effect on our sensory organs, including less cell regeneration, damage to taste buds and a reduction in the cleaning ability of the airways, causing the build up of mucus – yuk!

The good news is vaping doesn’t have nearly the same effect on your sense of smell and taste as smoking. Although the presence of nicotine means it can still dull your senses a tad, compared to smoking this will be much less severe, meaning you should see a dramatic improvement in this department.

The Flavours
Undoubtedly, one of the most amazing things about vaping is the vast array of flavours at your fingertips. Enjoy dessert flavours? Then step this way! Perhaps you’re a lover of fizzy drinks? Then lucky for you we’ve got that covered too!

In fact, there’s such a wide range of e-liquid available these days, we’re willing to bet money there’s a vape juice out there for pretty much any flavour you can think of!

Less Environmental Impact than Smoking
Although the damage smoking does to our health is well-documented, one thing many smokers are unaware of is the damage it does to the environment. Over 4 trillion cigarette butts end up in our oceans, rivers, beaches and soil each and every year, and these pollute the environment wherever they end up, endangering plant and animal life.

Add to that the fact that the global cultivation of tobacco causes deforestation, water and soil depletion and adds considerably to the planet’s production of greenhouse gases, and it’s easy to see how smoking isn’t the most eco-friendly of pastimes!

Although vaping isn’t exactly the greenest of hobbies either – the sturdy plastics and heavy metals used in batteries are difficult to recycle – the vape industry is responsible for far less damage to the environment than the tobacco industry.

If you do ditch cigs in favour of a vape, here’s a tip for the eco-conscious among you: try avoiding disposable vapes as these take more of a toll on the environment due to their short lifespan.

No Nasty Odours
Another benefit of choosing vaping over smoking is using an e-cig won’t leave the nasty aroma of stale smoke on your clothes and furniture!

We’ve all walked into a stranger’s home and known straight away they’re a 40-a-dayer! Well, thankfully vaping doesn’t produce the same strong aroma as cigarettes – in fact, you might even enjoy the smell your vape leaves behind!

Rules Aren’t as Strict
Try lighting up a cigarette in any public space and it won’t be long until someone gives you a good ticking off. That’s because since 2007, smoking in public has been illegal and anyone caught breaking this law faces a potential fine of up to £200.

If you’re prone to taking a cheeky puff in places you shouldn’t, another benefit of vaping is the rules aren’t nearly as strict when it comes to vape devices. Although some places won’t allow you to fire up your vape on their premises, the rules are actually at the discretion of the owner so in some cases you might be permitted.

One thing’s for sure, you won’t get hit with any fines, which is always a bonus!

It’s Easier to Quit Vaping
Last but by no means least on our list of 10 benefits to vaping is it’s much easier to quit e-cigs than it is to quit cigarettes.

Why? Well, the reason is you can gain much more control over your nicotine intake when you use an e-cig. To start weaning yourself off your vape, all you need to do is gradually reduce the strength of your liquid until your nicotine intake is minimal.

Once you feel you’re ready, you can make the switch to no nicotine e-liquid which should be much easier to quit than going cold turkey with cigarettes as you’ll still be using your vape and your nicotine intake will already be reduced.
