I’m Not Getting on With My Device
There are lots of reasons you might not be getting on with your vape device. If its the shape, style, size or appearance of your new vape, returning it and picking up something more to your taste is probably the best option. However, there are also lots of issues you can solve yourself, without having to look for a replacement vape . Keep reading to see if we can help you solve your issue quickly and easily! .
There isn’t Enough Vapour Production
Those thick, fluffy vapour clouds are often a vaping hallmark, particularly for cloud-chasers. If you’re finding your vape device isn’t producing as much vapour as you like, firstly you should check the mouthpiece and airflow holes. If you vape outside, in particular, it’s common for the mouthpiece to get clogged up with dust and dirt, which stifles the airflow and means you can’t inhale as much vapour. It’s also important to regularly clean your vape mouthpiece from a hygiene point of view too, as it’s the part of the device that goes in your mouth whenever you vape. If you have an adjustable airflow feature on your vape, make sure this is open too, to let the air move through your vape properly and help improve cloud production.
You may also want to switch to a higher-VG e-liquid, as these liquids are known for being better vapour producers than high PG liquids .
If none of these are working, you may want to invest in a more powerful device with a more robust battery. More power means better heating, which means higher quantities of e-liquid vapour! We have a range of vape mods available to help give you power, style, functionality and simplicity all in one, for the best possible cloud-chasing experience.
I’m Getting a Nasty, Burnt Flavour
Sometimes when you inhale your vape, you may get a strong, burnt taste to your e-liquid, which can be really unpleasant! You might think that it’s because your vape is faulty, but that’s not necessarily the case, and there are a few reasons you may taste a burnt flavour when you vape that can be easily rectified!
When you fill up your vape tank, you should always leave it for 5 minutes or so before powering up your vape mod. This allows the e-liquid to saturate the wick and makes sure you don’t get any dry hits. If you fill up and start vaping straight away, you’ll probably get that nasty burnt flavour as the liquid hasn’t had time to soak in.
If you’re still getting a burnt taste from your vape, you might need to replace the coil. In beginner vapes, you probably won’t have a replaceable coil so this isn’t applicable to those kinds of devices. However, if you have a changeable coil, you probably need to change it every one or two weeks, depending on how much you vape .
An expired, burned-out coil will probably give you that same burnt, bitter flavour when you vape. If you’re finding your coils run out very quickly, try leaving a bit more time between hits so as not to strain the coil too much.
Another reason you may have a burnt tasting vape is not having enough e-liquid in the tank. Most refillable devices will have some small holes in the coil that allow the e-liquid to soak in. If the vape juice level is below these holes, you’ll get a dry, burnt vape hit.
I’m Not Getting Enough or Too Much of a Throat Hit
If you’re looking for a strong throat hit, as many new vapers, in particular, are, you may find that you’re not getting the optimum experience from your vape. Alternatively, you may experience a throat hit that is simply too strong, and find it rough, uncomfortable or even painful to vape! Most of the time, issues with the throat hit of your vape will be down to the e-liquid you choose, rather than the device itself.
PG is the ingredient in your e-liquid that provides the distinctive throat hit sensation, so if you’re not satisfied, you may want to switch to a higher PG vape juice. You may also want to check the nicotine strength of your e-liquid, as the higher the nicotine concentration and the more freebase nicotine within the formula, the stronger the throat hit will be. You may also want to try a different flavour of e-liquid, as menthol, tobacco and citrus-based e-liquid flavours also tend to deliver a stronger throat hit than sweet or dessert flavours .
My Device Won’t Turn On
If your device won’t turn on, first things first, the basics! Make sure you click your battery to turn it on (some models require three, five or six clicks to make sure everything is working properly) - you should see a light (if your device has one) which will flash when you turn the device on and off.
You might also want to check the connection between your battery and tank, if you have a vape that can be taken apart and put back together again. Make sure your battery terminal and the end of your tank are free from fluff, debris or dirt, and give them a wipe with a tissue, cotton bud or alcohol wipe if you need to.
The Nicotine Hit Isn't Right
When you start vaping, a satisfying nicotine hit is so important to make sure you don’t just have a good experience, but that you keep at it and don’t switch back to smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes.
Vaping Doesn’t Satisfy My Cravings
Nicotine cravings are one of the things that make it so difficult to quit smoking, and they are why vaping is such a great quitting aid, as it effectively delivers nicotine to the body in a similar way to cigarettes. However, it’s important to get the concentration right to make your journey to becoming smoke-free as easy as possible.
As many e-cigarettes deliver nicotine more slowly than cigarettes, you may need to try a higher level of nicotine than you initially think. As a rule of thumb though, if you’re new to vaping we recommend a higher strength (try 1.8% nicotine) if you’re used to smoking more than 20 tobacco cigarettes a day; if you are used to smoking between 10 and 20 cigarettes a day, something like 1.2% might be right for you; and if you regularly smoke less than 10 cigarettes a day, start off with 0.6% strength or less.
If you find yourself vaping a lot, that vaping isn’t satisfying your nicotine cravings or that you still want to smoke, even just after you’ve vaped, trying a stronger concentration of nicotine is a good way to go. If you’re already vaping high concentrations of nicotine, you might also want to consider nicotine salts or shortfill e-liquids to give you a stronger e-liquid or more intense rush from your vape. This also has the added benefit of having to use less e-liquid, as you feel the need to vape less often and save money in the long run!
I Feel Sick or Lightheaded When I Vape
On the other hand, if your vape is making you feel faint, lightheaded or generally unwell, it might be that your e-liquid is too strong! If this is the case, you should stop vaping with that e-liquid straight away and switch to one with a lower nicotine concentration. This will help make vaping more comfortable and ensure that you don’t switch back to cigarettes!
I’m Getting A Dry or Sore Throat When I Vape
This is pretty common, especially among new vapers, as you simply aren’t used to the experience of vaping. As your body gets used to it this should go away, however, there are some things you can do.
The easiest option is to simply take a drink of water! High PG liquids, in particular, are known for making you feel a bit thirsty or hurting your throat . Simply stay hydrated before and after you vape and you should be fine. If it persists, consider switching e-liquid for less of a throat hit.
